General update

Feb. 21st, 2009 | 08:34 am
mood: silly silly

This is going to be a general update with no pics becuase I can't remember what I've said /done/can't be bothered to check :P

Right last Saturday I handed in my notice at work. Basically one woman who is old enough to know that she is no longer in the schoolyard had sent me to Coventry, and when asked by manager why, she said "I don't need to be her friend". Well, sure, but how about getting along with me so we can have a pleasant working enviornment? So yeah, yesterday was my last day, but I was on holiday all week! Yay!

Money will be tight for a while, no new yarn :( Will have to knit from the stash (I now understand the importance of having a stash - when there is no money for new yarn, you've got all your old yarn to knit!). I do have quite a bit of knitting there, so thats good.

New knitting group in Bath, we meet on Thursdays at the Cork between 12:15 and 2pm. Much fun can be had, and as its still new, not many people, so if you are available at any point during those times, come visit us!

Oh! I don't have pernicious anaemia. Still not sure what I do have, and although I'm feeling slightly better for whatever reason, I'm still not myself. Still get the stabby pains (not as frequently, but they are there) and still feel so exhausted. The parental unit visited this week, and they walked me around Bath so much that in the end I had to say that I needed to go home and rest! Lol.

What else? Um... congrats to my bestest friend Rachelley who got engaged to Zoe in Paris on Valentine's Day! May you always be happy together (and I get to be bridesmaid right?!)

The dream of Impending Doom

Oct. 12th, 2008 | 08:52 am
location: Living room
mood: weird weird

So there I am, in a house that looks like my exs house, and all my family are there, including some children I don't know, but appear to be my younger brother and sisters (strange, I'm an only child). Anyway, everything starts shaking, and we hide under the tables, earthquake-style. It was kind of scary, and then theres a voice over a loud-speaker saying that the world is coming to an end, if anyone is still alive, we need to pack a light bag, put on some walking boots (so specific!) and follow him to safety. I go to my room, get out a backpack, shove some underwear in it, a new thsirt and a new skirt, and then fill the rest of the bag up with sock yarn.

I'm figuring, impending doom, people will need socks and will swap me my warm hand-knit socks for other items of clothing, plus I could probably find more yarn at some point. I also inculded a pattern, and some extra DPNs, coz you just never know, sewing up needles, tape measure, and scissors.

I'm walking along the road, knitting on my current socks, and we get taken into a cinema, and we sit watching a cartoon. I can't remember what it was, as I was knitting... and then I woke up.

How strange that I chose to save my sock yarn. Or is it practical? Would I really do that if I was still alive after the world had "ended"?

Probably.

Cancer Research UK Race For Life

Jun. 1st, 2008 | 11:36 am
location: Living room
mood: dorky dorky
music: The sound of the hoover

This is the 5th year that I've done Race For Life. The first year I did it with my mum, the second year with my best friend. The third year with my mum again and I dressed up as a bat and got my picture on the front of the local newspaper (yeah man!). Last year I went Rocky Horror style in a corset, suspenders, fishnets etc. This year... was the best year yet.

Rhian and I knitted our way round!

Neither of us had tried to knit and walk at the same time before, but its surprisingly easy! There was a couple of dropped stitches, but we managed to pick them back up and carry on. We completed the 5km walk in 58 minutes. I've managed to raise £105 which I'm proud of doing :)

In other news: I finished the blue cardigan. Pictures to come soon. Have started a new baby cardigan from Stitch'N'Bitch Nation, its called Baby's First Tattoo. I'm doing it in black and white with skull and crossbones on it. They're supposed to be sewn on afterwards but I want to practice knitting with two colours so thats what I'm doing! Pictures of that to come soon too.

Naked With Knitting?!

May. 10th, 2008 | 01:12 pm
location: Living room
mood: sick sick

As part of my feeble attempt to stay in contact with my friends, I joined Facebook well over a year ago. It seems to be working, I do communicate on there! I also joined a whole host of groups... one being Naked With Stuff (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=11369203897)

The concept - get naked, put stuff in front of your bits, take picture.

So I did.

Yup, naked with knitting!

Ages!

Feb. 3rd, 2008 | 09:30 am
location: Living room
mood: creative creative

Ok, so its been a while since I made a post! But I've been very busy:

Making baby clothes for various people,

Crocheting a shawl for myself, and making various scarves of which I do not have pictures yet for people for Christmas.

Currently working on a gorgeous cardigan that was the cover of January's Simply Knitting (what a magazine!). Its got cable on it, and I've never done cable before, but really its quite easy! Don't know what I've been so scared about :P Its also got knitting in the round, which I'm looking forward to trying :)

I've recently got back into cross stitch, since one of my friends created a Nightmare Before Christmas kit for my birthday last year. I shall take a photo of that too when its finished. I've also started to scrapbook, my first scrapbook is a present for James to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and I've used all my favourite events from the past 2 years to scrap. It does look cool! My next project is a mini-book of my graduation for my mum for Mother's Day.

Hope everyone is well!
